2022 Global Battery Installed Rankings CATL & BYD Over 50%
As the world's largest new energy vehicle production and consumption market, China's power battery market is also leading the development of the global market.

Among them, CATL continues to lead the world, with an installed capacity of 191.6GWh in 2022, accounting for 37% of the global market, far exceeding the sum of the second, third and fourth places in terms of installed capacity. Ranked first in the world.

BYD relies on its new energy models to sell well. In 2022, the installed capacity of power batteries will be 70.4GWh, a year-on-year increase of 167.1%, ranking second in the world with LG New Energy, with a global market share of 13.6%.
As for CATL and BYD, the two giants of China's power batteries, the combined global market share of the two power batteries has exceeded 50%, accounting for "half of the country.
Growth Details for Each Company
#1 CATL
CATL's global installed capacity will reach 191.6 GWh in 2022, YOY increase of 92.5%. In 2022, CATL's installed capacity in the Chinese market will be about 146.9GWh, which means that it will install nearly 50GWh in overseas markets.
It is worth noting that CATL's global market share will reach 37% in 2022, an increase of 4 percentage points from 33% in 2021.

#2 BYD
BYD's new energy vehicle sales in 2022 reached a record 1.86 million units, not only exceeding the annual sales target of 1.2 million units, but also surpassing FAW-Volkswagen, ranking first in the sales list of Chinese auto companies. The explosive sales of BYD Auto have led to a surge in its installed capacity of power batteries.

#3 LG New Energy
In 2022, the installed capacity of LG's new energy power battery will only increase by 18.5% year-on-year, reaching 70.4GWh, and the installed capacity will be caught up by BYD. The global market share also dropped from 19.7% in 2021 to 13.6%.

The overall performance of Panasonic batteries in 2022 will be sluggish, and the installed capacity in 2022 will only increase by 4.6% year-on-year, the lowest growth rate among the TOP10.
As one of Tesla's main lithium battery suppliers , Panasonic's battery installation in 2022 will benefit from the increase in sales of Tesla models in the North American market and the increase in sales of Toyota's BZ4X.

In the Chinese market, Sunwoda's installed capacity in 2022 has entered the TOP5.
Its battery-supporting customers for passenger vehicles include Dongfeng Motor, Geely Automobile, Dongfeng Liuzhou, Xiaopeng Motors, etc.
